It may be your last chance to enjoy the “OG” cream egg brownie, scone or savoury chicken pot pie — all made from scratch.

After 15 years, Hamilton’s Cake and Loaf Bakery at 321 Dundurn St. S. is turning off its ovens on Oct. 8.

But a new version of the shop, which makes cakes, cookies and pastries, may pop up since the little bakery in the Kirkendall Community is looking for a new owner.

“There’s still time for someone to step in and keep the bakery running and it is our deepest wish that this happens,” it wrote in an Instagram post over the weekend with its announcement about the impending closure. “In the meantime, we aren’t slowing down just because things are coming to an end!”

The bakery’s owners Nickey Miller and Josie Rudderham didn’t share their reasons for leaving the business.

For those who want to keep the bakery going or start their own business, the owners said they are opening the sale up to any “culinary dreamers.”

“The fully equipped building is ready for its next chapter – so if you have a dream and it involves delicious food and you’re looking for somewhere to plant roots – come on over and check out this awesome space,” the shop wrote. “There’s 3 floors of delicious potential here!”

In its post, Cake and Loaf Bakery reminisced about the “adventure” of running the business since 2011, “packed full of fulfilling, challenging, joyful, and delicious memories.”

Cake and Loaf Bakery thanked its customers for joining them on this journey.

“Your support throughout the years has kept our little bakery thriving since 2011,” it wrote.

The bakery said its final Thanksgiving week from Oct. 3 to 8 will include the ninth annual “Sunday Pie Pop Up.” “Help us celebrate one last Holiday with you and bring some C+L to your festive tables. Three Cheers for Pie!
